Terms and Conditions Overview
This section outlines the essential terms for using Baxter Driving School’s services, ensuring you understand your rights and responsibilities clearly.
- You are required to be in possession of a current valid provisional driving licence.
- You will be required to pay in full for any lessons or test appointments that you cancel with less than 48 hours notice.
- Any block lessons must be paid in full before the 1st lesson is taken. If you decide to leave the school then any unused credit will be refunded.
- We reserve the right to refuse the use of the Instructors car for practical tests if the instructor feels that you have not reached a satisfactory standard.
- It is not the responsibility of the Instructor or school to remind or inform you when your theory/practical tests are, or to check that all your documents are in order for these tests.
- You are responsible for the instructors car while you are taking your practical test (not the examiner) In the unlikely event of a road accident you would be liable for any insurance excess due.
- Credit is not offered and all lessons must be paid in full either at the time or prior to the lesson.
- Any debts will be referred to an official debt collection agency who will recover any losses to the school and any additional charges incurred.
- We reserve the right to change the vehicle at any time.
- Whilst every care is taken to ensure that pupils receive tuition at the scheduled time and in the car booked,all appointments are made on the understanding that the school accepts no responsibility for postponement of lessons and practical tests due to mechanical breakdowns/instructor illness (if due to illness every effort will be made for another instructor to cover a practical test) or any other reason beyond our control. A new appointment will be made at the earliest convenience.
- The school is not responsible for driving test appointment postponed by the DVSA.
- The instructor has the right to cancel your lesson if they consider you to be ill/unwell.
- If you change the pick up or drop off point without 48 hours notice it may not be possible to give you the full duration of the lesson (full lesson to be charged).
- If you are late for a lesson, the lesson will still end at the same arranged time. Missed time cannot be reallocated, nor can the price be reduced.
- It is under the Instructors discretion whether to allow friends or family in the back of the vehicle whilst on a driving lesson.
- It is your responsibility to make sure you do not drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs while attending a lesson(please remember the night before) please check the labelling of any prescription/non prescription drugs with regards to driving. If you are not sure please consult your GP.
- Any items left in the car are not the responsibility of the instructor or school.
- On the occasional lesson there may be other instructors or DVSA officials observing your instructor. This is necessary for quality and assessment purposes.
- In the event of adverse weather, it will be down to the individual instructor to decide as to if your lesson will go ahead. This is not a decision that will be made by the driving school nor is it a reflection of a pupil’s driving ability.
- Abusive, offensive or any other such conduct will not be tolerated by the school or any of our driving instructors and therefore the instructor and the school have the right to refuse to teach that pupil.
- All Baxter Som driving instructors are self employed, as such the contract for driving tuition and any monies paid directly to the instructor are between yourself and the instructor. Baxter Som accepts no responsibility for monies paid to an instructor. All matters regarding booking a driving lesson are to be agreed between yourself and the instructor i.e times, dates and location.
- Gift vouchers are valid for a period of six months, after this time any unused value is null and void.
